Leona's ex-boyfriend demands her songs as compensation

British pop and RnB singer Leona Lewis’s ex-boyfriend has demanded a seven-figure pay off from her for helping her in her rise to stardom. Lewis, 25, had split from her childhood sweetheart Lou Al Chamaa last month. They had been pals since she was ten, growing up in Hackney before falling in love in their teens.
It has been claimed that the split was amicable but now Al Chamaa has insisted he is entitled to 1.5million pounds of the singer’s fortune for his contribution to her success. The singer has offered him their 600,000 pounds house in Hackney to make a clean break but the former electrician has refused and is demanding even more.He claims he owns rights to some of Lewis’ biggest hits after setting her up with producers and recording opportunities, and he also listed the fact that he filled in Lewis’ X Factor application form as evidence of his demand. “He believes he has played a huge role in Leona''s success. They have been together for more than ten years and he has encouraged her to fulfill her potential,” the Sun quoted a pal of his as saying.“He believes he has the rights of a common-law husband. He even filled in her X Factor application form and believes he then played a huge role in her success - not only as her partner but also professionally within his new position in the music industry. He claims he owns a piece of some of her songs and should benefit financially. She has offered him their house in Hackney but he insists that is not enough. It looks like it could get messy. It’s not like he is sitting at home in tears, though. The split was more on his terms and he is recently living it up in Miami,” the friend added.

Leona Lewis First Night The 02

It was an entrance that none of us could have predicted; a small yet noticeably effective surprise that would instantly provoke a reaction like no other.
Those gleaming white pearls; the simple shirt and jeans; that immediately recognisable 'hairstyle' -- indeed, watching Simon Cowell take to his seat near the front of the O2 stage left many of us nearby, like, completely star struck.
And I mean, totally.
But wait -- didn't we show up to appreciate the actual talent of The X Factor's most successful musical discovery to date?
Is it not a little strange -- and perhaps a tad rude -- that, rather than focus on the show that they originally paid to look, thousands of fans are instead glued to the sight of one of popular music's most dominant figures sipping from a plastic cup of beer?
Well, yeah, but to be fair, Leona Lewis is hardly the engaging or powerful performer that Simon and his partners in crime might have led you to believe.
Pantomime
She's an incredible vocalist. Likewise, there's no denying the quality of R&B belters like Bleeding Love and the Akon penned Forgive Me.
But in a live setting?
C'mon, Leona, but what's the story with all this fairytale business, eh?
Ok, we get it: The Labyrinth is your favourite film. For crying out loud, you even named your debut tour after it.
But is a pantomime remake -- complete with its very own cheap forest setting -- actually necessary?
Oh it is, is it?
Well then how the hell are we supposed to take anything you or your band are doing seriously when there are half naked men running around carrying flags and wearing unicorn masks on their heads?
Pretentious doesn't cut it, and while you'd have to admire the 25 year old Londoner for stepping out of her comfort zone a little, there's no escaping the comical farce of a show that could very easily have taken its cue (and costumes) from the nearest St Patrick's Day Parade, never mind a Jim Henson film.
There's just too much happening in front of us, and none of it seems to fit.
That this could be down to the fact that all those green lasers, big white swans, and second rate pop tunes, combine to make for nothing more than a piece of absolute drivel, is questionable.
But what's worse, for all of its pompousness, this is a show that presents to its audience very few signs that we're in the company of a genuine superstar.
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face? It's sweet.
No doubt, it's one of the rarer moments, alongside Snow Patrol's Run, where we get to really hear what this girl is capable of.
Staring
But four years and two albums later, it's clear that Leona is still very much stuck in X Factor mode; a carefully scripted, all too planned, personality free zone which, let's face it, hardly places her in the same league as Beyonce -- a performer she so obviously wishes to emulate.
Like I said, she's a great singer, but when it comes to entertaining a crowd, you'd be better off staring at Simon. Or at least the back of his head.

Meanwhile, speaking about why she usually avoids celebrity events, the 25-year-old commented: "I'm sure there are people out there who embrace everything and go to every party, and that's fun from time to time, but to be honest I'd much rather be in the studio or at home with my boyfriend or my family. Leona Lewis flashes the cash for 24th birthday at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas

Leona Lewis has fallen for the wicked charms of Sin City - but not quite enough for her to sully her goody-two-shoes image.

The Spirit singer headed to Las Vegas with a possee of gal pals, determined to make her 24th birthday one to remember.

But although she told her eight pals the drinks were on her - and they racked up an impressive bar bill - she only made do with a couple of glasses of bubbly.

It seems Leona, who last week wore a black outfit and Lady GaGa eyepatch, is reluctant to let her hair down. Party veteran Mel B introduced the X Factor winner to the delights of Vegas and the roulette wheels of Caesar's Palace after they saw Matt Goss in concert a few weeks ago.

So she decided it was the perfect place to hold her birthday party.

She jetted eight pals to Vegas and checked them into £500-a-night suites. After a quick change they were straight out clubbing. Leona told the girls to order whatever they wanted. And they did, racking up a champagne and shots bar bill which looked like one of the X Factor voting lines.

Is Leona Lewis the new Gaga?

After seeing Leona Lewis out and about in an array of edgier styles recently, we sensed that she was channelling Rihanna. However, Lewis's latest ensemble suggests that the innovative fashion icon is no longer bold enough for the X-Factor star.

For gossip blogger Perez Hilton's 'Carn-Evil' birthday party, Ms. Lewis took her radical style to a whole new level. She traded in RiRi for Gaga, wearing a clown inspired ruffle collar with a sequin bra and silk harem pants. The unique look was finished off in true Lady G fashion with an elaborate eye stencil.

Granted the theme of the party was 'Freak and Funk', and no one loves extravagance like Perez, but is Leona's look a little too OTT? We admire her courage, but is Lady Gaga the only one who can do ruffled collars and face adornments? Coming from Lewis, the blatantly weird ensemble looks a little attention seeking to us.

Not surprisingly, Leona Lewis wasn't the only one to follow the 'Carn-Evil' dress code. Mel B and Katy Perry arrived in rather more raunchy costumes, while Lindsay Lohan obviously didn't take to the fancy dress idea, and opted for a more ordinary party frock.

Leona Lewis is recovering after being attacked during a book signing at Waterstone's in London's Piccadilly yesterday afternoon (October 14), her spokesperson has confirmed.

Leona Lewis was reportedly punched in the head by a man who had queued patiently to meet her at the store, where she was signing copies of her new autobiography 'Dreams'.
Fan-recorded footage of the incident has since emerged and can be seen by scrolling down now.
Police have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection to the seemingly unprovoked attack, reports BBC News.

One fan who saw the incident said that Lewis' attacker was laughing as he was reprimanded.
"She was running out with her hand over her eye and I just saw a man on the floor," the fan explained. "Suddenly the security all jumped on him and they were trying to pull him out and he was just laughing, he thought it was funny."

Others told of how shocked they were to see the altercation between Lewis and the man first-hand.

"My brother saw the whole incident," explained another. "He [the attacker] walked up there with the book, she signed it and, as she looked up, he just punched her. He [my brother] actually heard the impact."

A spokesperson for the singer said she had been left "shaken" by the incident. "The police were called immediately and medical attention has been sought. Leona's understandably badly shaken and apologises to the fans she was unable to meet and complete signings for."
In the footage below, Lewis is seen holding her head as she's taken away by minders, while her attacker is pinned to the floor.
